There are 3 types of wants. The things we think we want. The things we want. And the things we did not realize we wanted. It can all be very deceiving if we live our lives vicariously through our Egos. I am learning that our Ego never really knows what it wants…it only knows how to want. So most of us tirelessly want…want a better job, want to be thinner, want a new car, want a new wardrobe, want…want…want. We believe that attaining those material possessions or becoming thinner will give us that affirmation we are all seeking. Does it ever end? The answer is, yes. We are all in search for something more than just a new car, a bigger house, and a better job. What are you really seeking? Is it a brand new BMW? A glamorous job? Or is it happiness? Stability? Recognition? Appreciation? Love? The key is to separate the object or event you have attached to happiness, success, wealth, etc. Discover happiness, joy, and give gratitude everyday. This sacred and underrated behavior is the invitation that will allow the “missing pieces” to come rushing into our lives. Become disciplined with the small stuff…water the soil and nourish the roots…and I promise you something magnificent, beyond the stretch of your Earth-bound imagination will flourish.
